Cultar is a plant growth regulator (PGR) from Syngenta designed to effectively control plant growth. Its technical name is Paclobutrazole 23% SC.
As a systemic PGR, Cultar is absorbed by the plant and distributed throughout its tissues. It works by blocking gibberellins, the hormones responsible for plant growth and cell elongation.
Composition:
- Paclobutrazol: 23% W/W
- Alkylated Napthalene Sulphonate: 3.0%
- Xanthangum: 0.03%
- Sodium bentonite/Aluminum Silicate: 2.5%
- Polydimethyl Siloxanes + Silica: 0.3%
- Benzisothiazolin-3-one: 0.01%
- Propylene glycol: 5.0%
Mode of Action: Cultar inhibits gibberellin production, reducing plant growth. This results in compact plants with smaller leaves and fruits.
Key Benefits:
- Controls vegetative growth, making plants more compact
- Enhances fruit size, color, and yield
- Promotes earlier flowering and fruit setting
- Reduces the need for pruning, saving time and labor
- Improves plant tolerance to pests and diseases
Usage Recommendations:
-
Mango Trees: 15-40 ml per tree (depending on age), diluted in 5-10 liters of water
-
Pomegranate: 30 ml/tree in 2 liters of water
-
Apple: 10 ml/tree in 5 liters of water
-
Cotton: 60 ml/acre with 200 liters of water
Method of Application: Foliar spray and soil drenching.
Additional use in mango cultivation, along with good practices, can stimulate and advance flowering.
